What “within the maker's range” means

The basket or pot has to take your loaf shape, and your dough weight has to sit inside the maker’s range or under its maximum. Makers’ ranges are rough: the dough, the shape and how far the loaf spreads all change the fit.

Where the maker gives no range, the result says so; we never turn a pot’s volume into a dough weight. A proofing container’s liquid volume is not a loaf weight either. Use the oven fit checker for the outside size and compare for the rest of the specs.
